During a parliamentary hearing in Australia, X’s head of global government affairs, Nick Pickles, defended the reinstatement of a right-wing influencer who posted CSAM on the platform. Despite claiming a “zero tolerance” approach to CSAM, Pickles explained that the influencer posted the material to express “outrage,” leading to skepticism from Australian lawmakers.
Linda Yaccarino’s Interview and Future Plans for X
In a video interview, X CEO Linda Yaccarino discussed the platform’s future, rebranding, and working under Elon Musk. She emphasized her autonomy from Musk in running the business aspects, while Musk handles the product side. Yaccarino promoted X as an “everything app,” highlighting upcoming features like video calls and user-to-user payments. Despite claims of a healthier platform, concerns remain about conspiracy theories and hate speech on X.
