Origin of Wordle
Wordle was originally created by engineer Josh Wardle as a gift for his partner. It quickly gained popularity and became an international phenomenon, with various fan-created versions such as Squabble, Heardle, Dordle, and Quordle also emerging. The game was eventually purchased by the New York Times, with TikTok creators even live-streaming themselves playing.
Wordle Strategy
When choosing a starting word for Wordle, it is recommended to select a word with at least two different vowels and common consonants like S, T, R, or N. This strategic approach can help players find the solution faster.
Changes to Wordle Archive
Initially, the entire archive of past Wordle puzzles was available for everyone to enjoy. However, it was later taken down at the request of the New York Times. Subsequently, the New York Times introduced its own Wordle Archive, accessible only to NYT Games subscribers.
