Apple has some big plans for the future, according to a new report that may be a bit too optimistic. We’re not just talking about the upcoming events like the iPad event, WWDC, or the iPhone 16 launch.
iPhone 17 Slim
A new report suggests that in 2025, Apple will introduce a new “Slim” variant to its iPhone lineup, replacing the “Plus” model. The lineup would include iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17 Slim. Details are scarce about the Slimphone, but it’s expected to be slimmer than the regular iPhones.
The iPhone 17 devices will feature a more complex aluminum design, except for the Pro Max model, which will be made of titanium. The Pro Max will also have a smaller Dynamic Island, thanks to new “metalens” technology that reduces the size of the Face ID sensor.
Lastly, the iPhone 17 and 17 Slim are rumored to have 8GB of RAM and either an A18 or A19 chip, while the Pro models will come with 12GB of RAM and the A19 Pro chip. All four models will also sport a 24-megapixel selfie camera.
New Foldable
Analyst Jeff Pu predicts that Apple will ramp up production of a 20.3-inch foldable hybrid device in late 2025, with a foldable iPhone to follow in 2026. These rumors are more ambitious than previous reports, suggesting Apple is moving forward with foldable technology sooner than expected.
While there have been rumors of foldable Apple devices in the past, the timing of these predictions is what sets them apart. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also mentioned a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook coming in 2027, indicating that Apple is exploring various foldable device options.
