After a period of relative quiet, speculations regarding Sony’s rumored upcoming “PS5 Pro” console have resurfaced on the internet. Recently, a leaker known as billbil-kun, contributing to the French website Dealabs, has purportedly caught a glimpse of the final packaging for the yet-to-be-released console.
PS5 Pro design
According to the information provided by the leaker, the PS5 Pro is reported to have a slightly thicker profile compared to the current model, while maintaining a similar overall size and shape. The most notable visual alteration appears to be the presence of three black stripes running horizontally along the white exterior of the device.
Aside from these cosmetic adjustments, the console largely maintains its original white color scheme and features two USB-C ports and a power button on the front. The significant enhancements are expected to be internal, with speculations suggesting that the PS5 Pro will offer increased performance capabilities compared to the standard PS5 model, positioning it as a more potent option without reaching the level of a full-fledged PlayStation 6.
While uncertainties loomed following the absence of any PS5 Pro announcement during Sony’s summer gaming showcase, recent rumors hint at a potential unveiling in September. Notably, the PS4 Pro followed a similar timeline, being announced in September 2016 and subsequently released in November of the same year. This historical precedent suggests that Sony might adhere to a comparable schedule for the introduction of the PS5 Pro.
