Overview of Connections
Connections is the newest word game from the New York Times that has quickly gained popularity among the public. Designed to challenge players to find common threads between words, this daily game resets at midnight with increasingly difficult word sets. To help players navigate through the puzzles, hints and tips are provided to enhance their gaming experience.
How to Play Connections
Created by associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, Connections can be accessed on web browsers and mobile devices. The objective of the game is to group four words that share a common element. Each puzzle consists of 16 words divided into four categories, such as book titles, country names, or software. While multiple words may appear to fit together, only one grouping is correct. Players have up to four mistakes before the game ends, and correctly grouped words are removed from the board.
Players can utilize features like rearranging and shuffling the board to facilitate identifying connections. Each word group is color-coded for difficulty levels, ranging from yellow (easiest) to purple (most challenging). Similar to Wordle, players can share their results on social media to engage with friends and other players.
