What is Connections?
The latest daily word game from NYT has become a sensation on social media. Associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu is credited with creating this new word game and introducing it to the Games section of the publication. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices, challenging players to group four words that share a commonality.
Each puzzle consists of 16 words divided into four categories, such as book titles, software, or country names. While multiple words may appear to fit together, only one correct answer exists. Players must correctly identify all four words in a set to remove them from the board. Incorrect guesses are counted as mistakes, with players allowed up to four errors before the game concludes.
Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate spotting connections. Additionally, each group is color-coded for difficulty, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, players can share their results on social media.
