Remember when Netflix’s interactive titles were all the rage? Well, the party is coming to an end as the company plans to remove most of them from its platform.
According to The Verge, Netflix will be trimming down its “Interactive Specials” to just four titles: the groundbreaking 2018 choose-your-own-adventure film Bandersnatch from Black Mirror, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s special starring Daniel Radcliffe, and Bear Grylls’ Ranveer vs. Wild and You vs. Wild. These titles, with multiple endings based on viewer choices, will stick around.
But after December 1, it’s lights out for the rest of the interactive catalogue. Say goodbye to Grylls’ other titles, Unwind Your Mind from Headspace, Triviaverse, and a bunch of kids’ franchise titles like Carmen Sandiego: To Steal or Not to Steal, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous: Hidden Adventure, and more.

Notably, Netflix’s first interactive game from 2017, Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale, will also be removed. Back then, Netflix’s press release for the game mentioned:
Chrissy Kelleher, a spokesperson for Netflix, explained to The Verge, “The technology served its purpose, but is now limiting as we focus on technological efforts in other areas.”
