Users can now search for general sights or products on Maps without needing to specify a business or address. Through machine learning and image recognition AI, Google will analyze the billions of user-uploaded photographs on Maps to find matches for your search query.
For instance, if you’re in the mood for unique coffee art, simply search for “animal latte art” on Google Maps to discover photos of creative coffee critters shared by other users. By tapping on a desired image, Maps will provide information on its location and directions, allowing you to indulge in a coffee topped with puppy foam art.
Moreover, the new update will debut in the US, UK, Japan, France, and Germany this week, with additional countries to follow suit.
