At this year’s Made by Google event, not much was left to surprise us due to the abundance of leaks, but there’s still plenty to explore. Google introduced the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, a new Pixel Watch, and…a new Pixel Tablet. Yes, the Pixel Tablet is still around and it’s receiving an upgrade.
Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro
The Pixel 7 features a 6.3-inch display, reintroducing facial recognition as an additional unlocking method, and enhancing AI-driven capabilities with Google’s G2 Tensor chip. This includes visual menu options for dealing with automated call systems, voice-recognized emoji suggestions, and voice message transcription in Google’s Messages app. The Pixel 7 is available in snow, obsidian, and a new pale green color called lemongrass, starting at $599.
The Pixel 7 Pro boasts a 6.7-inch display, face unlock, and similar features and camera updates as the Pixel 7. Its standout feature is the camera, with a 30x telephoto lens and technology for crisp fully zoomed-in photos. The Pixel 7 Pro comes in snow, obsidian, and hazel colors, starting at $899.
Pixel Watch
In line with the smartwatch trend, the Pixel Watch offers new health tracking features such as a heart rate sensor, ECG monitoring, and sleep tracking. It also includes three months of YouTube premium and six months of Fitbit premium for all your workout and relaxation needs.
The Pixel Watch starts at $349 for the WiFi-only model and $399 for WiFi and LTE service.
Pixel Tablet
Let’s not forget about the Pixel Tablet! Set to release in 2023, details on price and release date are still pending. It will feature the G2 Tensor chip and work with a speaker dock that doubles as a charging station. Expect more information next year on its smart home management and creative capabilities.
