Elon Musk ain’t feeling ‘GTA’, but X really wants ‘GTA 6’ trailer on the platform

Elon Musk Not a Fan of Grand Theft Auto

Elon Musk has expressed his love for video games like Elden Ring in the past, but there’s one game he’s not a fan of: Grand Theft Auto. In a reply to an X employee, Musk mentioned that he tried playing GTA5 but didn’t like the idea of starting off by shooting police officers in the opening scene.

Musk’s Opinion Sparks Conversation

While playing GTA is purely fictional and doesn’t equate to real-life crime, Musk is entitled to his opinion. The release of the GTA 6 trailer, leaked on Musk’s social media platform, generated a lot of buzz. However, Musk’s public disdain for the game coincided with X CEO Linda Yaccarino’s attempt to have the trailer uploaded directly on X.

Rockstar Games’ Response

Despite the trailer leak, Rockstar Games eventually released the GTA 6 trailer on YouTube, garnering over 74 million views. While the trailer set a new record for most views within 24 hours, Rockstar Games has not uploaded it directly to X at the time of publication.
