Google Meet Introduces Picture-in-Picture Feature
Google Meet recognizes the challenge of staying on a single tab during meetings and has introduced a solution. The picture-in-picture feature is now automatically integrated into the service, allowing users to shrink the call to a smaller size and have it appear in the bottom-right part of the screen when switching tabs.
Enhanced Multitasking for Google Chrome Users
This feature, previously an option that users could manually enable during a meeting, is now a default setting for Google Meet. It is particularly useful for individuals who need to multitask, such as looking up information while participating in a work project discussion. Currently, the feature is only available to users on a computer using Google Chrome.
The Google Workspace team highlighted the importance of this update in a blog post, stating that it ensures meetings remain visible and accessible even when users switch tabs for tasks like taking notes or viewing meeting-related documents.
