Did the recent AT&T outage leave you without cellular service last Thursday?
Well, AT&T is trying to make it up to you by giving a $5 credit to your account.
Yes, you read that right. Five bucks. According to AT&T, that’s the equivalent of one day of service on an average AT&T mobile plan.
AT&T’s Response
After the outage, the official AT&T account tweeted, “We recognize the frustration Thursday’s outage caused & know we let many of our customers down. To help make it right, we are applying a credit to potentially impacted accounts to help reassure our customers of our commitment to reliably connect them – anytime and anywhere.”
The company also set up a webpage titled “Making it right” to provide customers with details of the credit offer and to apologize for the inconvenience.
AT&T experienced a major outage on Thursday, affecting users across the U.S. Some customers couldn’t use their cell service for 5 hours or more. The outage was so severe that it even affected downtime reports of various web services and other mobile carriers.
The $5 Credit
However, the reaction to AT&T’s $5 credit has been mixed. Some customers appreciate the gesture, while others have noticed the limitations of the offer.
It’s important to note that the $5 credit is per account, not per device. This means that customers with multiple phone lines on their account will only receive a $5 credit in total.
Additionally, the credit will not apply to customers with AT&T Business accounts, prepaid service users, or Cricket Wireless customers.
But hey, if you’re eligible for the credit, you don’t have to do anything to receive it. AT&T will automatically credit your account within one or two billing cycles.
So, hang in there and stay connected!
