Amazon’s Alexa Fund is putting money into Fable Studio, the startup behind that AI-generated knockoff of South Park. According to Variety, the cash from Amazon’s tech investment fund is going towards Fable’s new streaming platform, Showrunner, which they’re calling the “Netflix of AI.” Basically, it’s a platform where users can create shows using their generative AI model.
Fable Studio made waves in 2023 with their AI model that produced a South Park-style clip during the SAG-AFTRA strike. Now, Showrunner is up and running, letting users get creative with animated shows and characters. The CEO even mentioned possible partnerships with big players like Disney.
The platform is currently in alpha mode, free for users to watch videos. But down the line, they might start charging $10 to $20 a month for those looking to generate new content. Stay tuned for more updates on this intriguing project!
