Comprehensive Overview of Rumors and Leaks Surrounding Pixel 10: Alleged Pricing, Color Options, and Specifications Leaked to Date

Google has officially announced the date of the next Made By Google event, which will take place on Aug. 20. That’s when we expect to see the official debut of the Pixel 10 series. As is typical for Google, the whole Pixel 10 lineup has been leaking like a busted pipe. Last week, the full Pixel 10 lineup leaked, and we’re expecting to see the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold make their debut on Aug. 20. And that’s just the tip of the leak iceberg.

Google makes some of the best Android phones on the market, so the latest Pixel launch is a very significant event. Based on the rumors so far, the Pixel 10 series of phones won’t be a massive departure from the previous generation of Pixel 9 devices. For the most part, it seems like some spec updates and feature shuffling are in order. With the launch less than a month away, here is everything we know (and everything we think we know) about the Pixel 10 series so far.

Pixel 10 release date and price

Barring a massive shock, the Pixel 10 announcement will come on Aug. 20, with a full launch on Aug. 28. This lines up with last year’s launch of the Pixel 9 series. In addition, there will almost certainly be a Pixel 10a at some point, but its launch date will likely be in 2026. For pricing, it seems Google may be shaking it up a bit. Despite initial rumors that prices might actually be lower, that now seems very unlikely.

Magnets? Magnets!

There’s a new Qi wireless charging standard, Qi2, that uses magnets to ensure proper alignment between devices. Because the new Pixels are slightly heavier and thicker, we believe the devices may incorporate magnets into their design. Alternatively, we could see a new PixelSnap line of magnetic accessories.

Our first official look at the Pixel 10

At first, our only glimpse of the Pixel 10 came from an interesting leak where someone nabbed photos of Google shooting a commercial with the new Pixel 10. However, the official Pixel store posted a video of the new Pixel 10 in all its glory. The photo shows the Pixel 10 in a silvery color, with a large, horizontal camera bump on the back hiding three cameras. The entire thing doesn’t look much different from the Pixel 9 Pro.
The colors appear to be consistent among the rumors surrounding the upcoming Google Pixel 10 series, but the color names vary. For instance, Frost is referred to as “Blue” in some leaks, while Jade is simply called “Green”. Moonstone has been associated with Sterling (silver) and Lemongrass with Limoncello. However, the colors Google is going with this year are black, purple, yellow, blue, green, gray, and white.

Google Pixel 10 specs

Specs for the Pixel 10 series have been consistent in rumors, with the smartphones expected to feature a TSMC-made Tensor 5 chip, which is projected to be Google’s most powerful chip to date. The series is also rumored to include improvements in brightness levels and battery capacity, with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold potentially being the first foldable device with a full IP68 waterproof rating.

Google Pixel 10 camera changes

Rumors suggest that the Pixel 10 will introduce new camera hardware, such as a 50 MP Samsung GN8 wide-angle lens and a 13 MP Sony IMX712 ultrawide lens. While the lineup may see some changes in sensor configurations, the overall camera system is expected to remain largely similar to the previous generation.

Google Pixel 10 software

phone screens showing android 16 features

The Google Pixel 10 series is anticipated to launch with Android 16, offering Pixel-specific features like Pixel Sense, an on-device assistant capable of integrating data from various apps. Additionally, new wallpapers and sounds are expected to accompany the devices, enhancing the overall user experience.

New AI features with the Pixel 10 series

Anticipated AI Features for Pixel 10 Devices

We anticipate a range of AI improvements and features for the upcoming Pixel 10 devices. One highly anticipated feature is “Speak to Tweak,” which is expected to enable Gemini (or another Language Model) to edit photos based on user suggestions. Another rumored feature is “Sketch to Image,” allowing users to sketch a basic outline for AI to fill in the details. Additionally, there are speculations about a Magic Editor for video, generative AI video editing tools, and other related features.

Potential Google AI Subscriptions with Pixel 10

A noteworthy possibility is the inclusion of a bonus subscription to Google AI services with the Pixel 10 devices. Currently, purchasing certain models like the Pixel 9 Pro series offers a 12-month free trial for the Google AI Pro plan. This subscription provides access to advanced AI features like Gemini Advanced, integration with apps such as Gmail and Google Docs, and 2 TB of cloud storage. Similarly, the new Samsung phones come with access to Google AI Pro, including the innovative Google Veo 3 AI video generator.

Expectations for Pixel 10 Lineup

While the Pixel 10 lineup appears to offer incremental improvements over the previous series, there are some notable exceptions. Reports suggest that the camera system of the Pixel 10 may see a slight downgrade, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to feature significant upgrades in various aspects except for the design. With the anticipated release date approaching, we eagerly await official confirmation and detailed insights into the Pixel 10 devices.
