‘Wednesday’ gets rid of its love triangle drama in Season 2

In the first season of “Wednesday,” things got a little crazy when they threw the title character, played by Jenna Ortega, into a love triangle between a barista/monster named Hyde Tyler Galpin and a psychic student named Xavier Thorpe. It was a weird choice for a show that likes to put a Gothic twist on high school tropes. Even Jenna Ortega herself agreed, saying that the love triangle made no sense for Wednesday Addams. So, for the second season, they decided to ditch the romance and focus more on horror, which definitely worked out better.

Getting Rid of the Love Triangle
In Season 2, they quickly removed both of Wednesday’s love interests from the picture. Xavier is no longer at Nevermore, and Tyler is stuck in a psychiatric hospital after Season 1. The show made it clear that Wednesday is better off without these distractions, allowing her to focus on her own mysteries and adventures.

Enid’s Love Triangle
While Wednesday is free from her love triangle, her roommate Enid finds herself in a romantic predicament of her own. After breaking things off with her gorgon boyfriend, Enid sets her sights on a fellow werewolf named Bruno. With Enid’s outgoing personality and openness to love, it makes much more sense for her to be involved in a love triangle than Wednesday.

Season 2 doesn’t drag out Enid’s romantic drama too long, quickly resolving the situation and allowing her to move on with Bruno. It’s a refreshing change from the usual love triangle drama and gives viewers more time to enjoy the show’s spooky mysteries.
The original love triangle on Wednesday’s episode is out, leaving space to dig deeper into the Addams Family dynamics. Especially interesting is Wednesday’s relationship with her mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones). The show now focuses more on Enid and Wednesday’s friendship, which is put to the test as Wednesday tries to protect Enid from a prophesied death. For those shipping Wednesday and Enid, there’s still hope!

Season 2, Part 1 of “Wednesday” is already available on Netflix, and Part 2 will premiere on Sept. 3. So grab your popcorn and get ready for more Addams Family drama!
