Introducing Mogul: The Fantasy League for Hollywood
There are fantasy leagues available for almost every outdoor sport, but there has been a noticeable absence of fantasy-based entertainment for those who prefer the indoor experience. However, the landscape may be changing with the introduction of Mogul, the first fantasy league for Hollywood, by the film subscription ticketing service MoviePass.
Gameplay and Features
Mogul, built on the Sui cryptocurrency blockchain, allows users to draft actors, directors, and movies within a set budget to create their own studio. Similar to traditional fantasy sports, the performance in the game will be based on real-world results, specifically the daily box office numbers. The game operates on a seasonal basis, lasting approximately six weeks and tied to the movie release calendar, with players having the ability to make weekly swaps to their team/studio.
According to the site’s FAQs, Mogul is free to play and does not require holding cryptocurrency, although there is a $5 “Battle Pass” option for unlocking additional rewards. Interested participants can sign up with an email address on the Mogul website, with new users being gradually added in the upcoming weeks.
