We are now in the era of the seventh film in the Jurassic Park/World franchise, where fan service is abundant. In the latest installment, Jurassic World Rebirth, there are subtle nods to the original film and Michael Crichton’s books, the true foundations of the franchise. One standout homage is to the iconic banner moment from Jurassic Park’s finale.
Banner Homage in Jurassic World Rebirth
In the memorable ending of Spielberg’s 1993 classic Jurassic Park, the T-rex lets out a roar as a banner reading “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” drifts to the ground. This moment is paid tribute in Jurassic World Rebirth when a similar banner falls behind a T-rex skull in the Museum of Natural History.
An Early Easter Egg in Jurassic World Rebirth
Another reference to Michael Crichton is spotted in Jurassic World Rebirth, as a school bus labeled “Crichton Middle School” passes by in a scene featuring traffic caused by dinosaurs in Manhattan. It’s a clever nod to the author of the Jurassic Park books.
How many other Easter eggs did you catch in Jurassic World Rebirth? Be sure to keep an eye out for more surprises when you watch the film, now in theaters from July 2.
