Reports of Hardware Problems on Nintendo Switch 2
Since its recent release, the Nintendo Switch 2 has been facing reports of hardware problems from users, particularly regarding overheating issues. Online forums, mainly in Japan but also in other regions, have seen users complaining about their consoles becoming too warm to hold comfortably, with some experiencing game freezes or crashes as a result of overheating, even when in docked mode. Despite the presence of an additional cooling fan in the Switch 2 dock, these issues persist across a variety of games, ranging from resource-intensive titles like Cyberpunk 2077 to older games such as Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Potential Solutions and Concerns
Nintendo has advised users to ensure that the air vents are clear and to relocate the system to a cooler environment in an attempt to mitigate the problem. However, it remains uncertain whether these measures will resolve the issue for all affected users. If not, individuals may need to send their Switch 2 units in for repairs. While some users have not encountered any issues with their consoles, others have faced different hardware problems, such as malfunctioning Ethernet ports on the dock, within a short period after the launch of the Switch 2.
