Garmin Fenix 8 Pro Smartwatch Unveiled with Groundbreaking Features

Garmin recently introduced its latest flagship smartwatch, the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro, featuring innovative technology such as a microLED display. The new wearable is targeted towards outdoor athletes and comes with a premium price tag.

Cutting-Edge Display Technology

The Garmin Fenix 8 Pro is available in two models. The first model includes an AMOLED display in 47mm and 51mm sizes, priced at $1,199.99 and $1,299.99, respectively. Opting for the model with the microLED display, only available in 51mm, increases the price to $1,999.99.

Impressive Features

Garmin is known for its durable smartwatches, and the Fenix 8 Pro is designed to compete with Apple’s upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3. The microLED display on the Garmin smartwatch is remarkable, featuring over 400,000 LEDs and a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits – making it the brightest smartwatch display in the market. Additionally, the watch includes an LED flashlight, catering to hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Enhanced Connectivity

One of the key features of the Fenix 8 Pro is its connectivity options. Garmin states that the smartwatches will offer a combination of satellite and cellular connectivity, allowing users to access emergency services, communicate via Garmin’s Messenger app, and share their location with other Garmin inReach users. While cellular connectivity may not be as robust as other leading brands, the inclusion of satellite connection is beneficial in remote areas with limited cell coverage.

Emergency Assistance and Availability

In case of emergencies, the watch can send a distress signal to Garmin’s Response Center for rescue efforts. Garmin offers a subscription service starting at $7.99 per month for the inReach system. The Fenix 8 Pro smartwatches are now available on Garmin’s website and will be released on September 8th, one day before Apple’s launch event.
