Google has officially launched unknown tracker alerts, making it more difficult for individuals to surreptitiously plant Apple AirTags on others. The new feature, known as Google’s Unknown Tracker Alerts, serves as a safeguard against AirTag stalking by enabling users to scan for nearby trackers with their Android device either manually or automatically. While the feature currently only works with Apple AirTags, Google has plans to expand its capabilities in the future.
This development marks a significant shift for Android users, who previously did not receive real-time alerts about individuals secretly monitoring their location, unlike Apple users. By introducing this feature, Google and Apple are setting a new standard in the industry to ensure that individuals are aware when they are being tracked.
