Elon Musk lowers eligibility requirements for X Premium
Elon Musk is pushing for more users to sign up for X Premium, the $8-per-month subscription service previously known as Twitter Blue. The company has reduced the criteria to qualify, now requiring only a paid X Premium subscription, 5 million impressions in the last three months, and 500 followers. The minimum payment threshold was also lowered to $10.
Musk promotes program benefits
After the official announcement, Musk promoted the changes, emphasizing that users must be subscribed to X Premium and that only impressions from other X Premium subscribers count towards monetization. He even suggested that users who qualify for monetization will essentially get X Premium for free if they earn more than the $8 subscription fee per month.
Creator monetization program progress
Musk launched the creator monetization program in February, but there was little movement until mid-July when payments started going out to select users. The program has since opened up to all users, with some receiving monetization payments. However, the calculation method for monetization remains unclear.
