My 2019 iPad Pro has been chugging along pretty well, considering its age. On the outside, it still looks good – especially with the Magic Keyboard and Pencil combo. But deep down, it’s starting to show its age. The battery drains overnight, even with background refresh off. It’s like the iPad is telling me, “I’ve had a good run, time to retire me for something new.”
Enter the newest iPad Pros from Apple – slimmer, lighter, and more powerful than ever. Now I find myself eyeing the 13-inch model, with its lighter weight and faster performance. I can’t help but wonder how many digital comics I could store on the 2 TB version. And don’t get me started on the new squeezable Pencil Pro – who wouldn’t want to squeeze their Pencil, right?
But with a price tag over $3,000 for the whole package, including the Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard, it’s a hefty investment. For comparison, that’s $2,000 more than a 13-inch Macbook Air. Some may hesitate to upgrade, despite the trade-in value. Yet Apple knows how to appeal to our desire for creativity and innovation. After all, who doesn’t want to live their best creative life?
In the end, the old workhorse doesn’t stand a chance against the allure of a new iPad Pro. Who can resist the temptation to unleash their inner artist/musician/videographer? As Apple knows, credit card debt is a small price to pay for living your best creative life.
