The GTA 6 trailer was unexpectedly released a day earlier than planned by Rockstar Games. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. ET, the highly anticipated action-adventure game trailer was actually dropped on Monday afternoon. This decision was made in response to an unofficial leak of the trailer by a user with the handle @Gtatrailerleak at 5:30PM ET, resulting in the account being suspended by X at 6 p.m. ET. As a result, Rockstar Games quickly released the official trailer on YouTube at 6:10 p.m. ET.
Reason for Early Release
Rockstar Games took the decision to unleash the trailer ahead of schedule due to the leaked unofficial glimpse shared by @Gtatrailerleak on social media. In order to combat the leak and ensure fans saw the real trailer, the video game publisher urged viewers to watch the official trailer on YouTube.
GTA 6 is set to be released on PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, with no confirmation yet on a PC release.
