At MWC Barcelona on Sunday, Xiaomi officially unveiled the global versions of its new top-of-the-line smartphones, the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The Xiaomi 14, first launched last year in China, features a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3,000 nits max brightness. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage memory. The phone runs on Android 14 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS on top. On the back, there’s a triple 50-megapixel camera, while the selfie camera on the front is a 32-megapixel wide shooter with 4K video recording. The Xiaomi 14 also boasts a large, 4,660mAH battery with fast wired and wireless charging capabilities.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, unveiled in China last week, is an even more powerful version of the Xiaomi 14. It features a larger 6.73-inch display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. The Ultra also comes with a massive 5,300mAh battery, supporting 80W wireless charging. The standout feature of the Ultra is its quad rear camera system, with all four cameras boasting a 50-megapixel resolution. The main camera includes a 1-inch sensor with a Leica Summilux lens, while the telephoto cameras offer 3.2x and 5x optical zoom. The Ultra-wide camera has an f/1.8 aperture and a 122-degree field of vision.
Xiaomi has also enhanced the Ultra’s video capabilities, making it a versatile phone camera system capable of capturing great-looking photos at six different focal lengths and in various conditions. The global availability of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is a significant upgrade, as previous Ultra phones were primarily targeted at the Chinese market. In addition to the new smartphones, Xiaomi also introduced the Xiaomi Watch S3, a smartwatch with interchangeable bezels that automatically set a new watch face when installed.
