WhatsApp has recently unveiled a new feature called Writing Help, which utilizes artificial intelligence to rephrase messages or give them a different tone. This feature allows users to make their messages sound more professional, funny, or supportive, among other options.
How to Use the Writing Help Feature
To access the Writing Help feature, users simply need to start typing a message on WhatsApp, tap the icon to the right of the text, and then select the pencil icon from the menu that appears below the message. From there, users can choose the desired AI action for their message and select from the available options.
Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, emphasizes that its Private Processing technology ensures that the AI can perform these tasks without Meta or WhatsApp ever reading the message or the AI’s suggestions. Currently, the feature is only available in English in the United States and several other countries, with plans to expand to additional languages and regions later this year.
For individuals who may not have a strong command of the English language, the Writing Help feature could prove to be particularly beneficial. However, the effectiveness of the AI in improving one’s sense of humor remains to be seen, based on the examples provided by WhatsApp.
