More AI is going to be trained on user posts on X.
X previously announced that it would use users’ posts to train its AI chatbot Grok. However, the social network updated its Privacy Policy to also allow third parties to train their AI models on X data.
X states in the Privacy Policy that depending on user settings or if users decide to share their data, it may be shared or disclosed with third parties. The policy mentions that recipients of the information may use it for their own purposes, including training their artificial intelligence models.
Users who have not opted out of allowing X to train Grok on their posts can still do so before the new policy takes effect on November 15, 2024. As of now, there is no way to block third parties from training their AI on user posts, but hopefully, this option will be available in the future.
