Nothing’s upcoming smartphone is set to arrive in the U.S. in 2023, offering a more premium experience than the initial Nothing Phone.
Anticipation for Nothing Phone (2)
According to Nothing CEO and co-founder Carl Pei, the forthcoming device, aptly named Nothing Phone, will make its debut later this year. Pei refrained from divulging specific details about the phone’s features but did mention that it will boast a higher level of quality compared to its predecessor. Emphasizing on software, Pei highlighted that it will be a major focus for the company.
Enhancements and Expansion
The original Nothing Phone, characterized by its distinctive semi-transparent design and decent hardware specifications, was priced at $299 in the U.S. However, it lacked 5G support on major carriers. Running on a beta version of Android 13-based Nothing OS, Pei promised that the upcoming software update will deliver improved performance and smoother operation.
With a significant increase in revenue from $24 million in 2021 to over $200 million in 2022 and a doubling of the workforce from 200 to 400 employees, Nothing is gearing up for a successful U.S. launch. Pei affirmed that the U.S. market holds top priority for the company, indicating a strategic focus on expanding retail presence globally.
