Acer Takes on MacBook Air with Swift Air 16
Acer isn’t playing coy with its latest ultraportable laptop, the Swift Air 16. Unveiled at IFA 2025 in Berlin, this 16-inch Windows laptop is aimed squarely at the MacBook Air market. Featuring AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors and an optional AMOLED 120Hz display, the Swift Air 16 is impressively lightweight for its size, weighing as little as 2.18 pounds.
Competition and Comparison
Asus may have flirted with MacBook Air comparisons with its Zenbook A14, but Acer is going all in with the Swift Air 16. While the Zenbook A14 boasted impressive battery life, lasting nearly 22 hours in tests, the Swift Air 16 falls short with up to 13 hours of video playback per charge. That said, Apple probably isn’t losing sleep over it.
Impressive Specs
The Swift Air 16 doesn’t just rely on its lightweight design to make a statement. With features like an AMD Ryzen AI 5 330 to 7 350 processor, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage, this laptop packs a punch. Plus, it comes in a sleek magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis in four color options.
